This week has been crazy and awesome!
I went on exchanges up to Paola on Tuesday and when I came back we had
an investigator on date for baptism on July 2nd which is amazing. We
have been working with him for a while and something happened and he
is super solid now! We are really excited.
Then we went and helped a member in the ward with their huge garden.
We were going to borrow their neighbors tiller and they were gone
so we hand tilled/ weeded the whole thing which was fun.
On Tuesday we also had a lesson set up and we were going to meet in a
park. A member was going to meet us there and join us for a lesson.
Well the lesson fell through but the member while she was waiting
there started talking to this guy in the park. It turns out that he was
kinda raised LDS but has since fallen away pretty hard. So we had a
good heart to heart with him and he really wanted to change and agreed
to be baptized. But he doesn't have a car or a phone so the only way
we can get to him is hopefully catching him at the park again although
we haven't seen him since then :(
Then later that day we had dinner by ourselves but we had maybe 20
minutes before we were going to start so we decided to head over to a
former investigator that we had stopped teaching for reasons. And he
was painting his house so we asked if we could help. He said no but he
really didn't want to cook dinner. Cut to us alone in his house
cooking food and chefing it up and we had dinner with him. That was a
little weird but we had a good talk with him.
Thursday we had another lesson with an investigator who plays Semi-Pro
football in Joplin and put him on date for July 9. He is awesome but we
will probably have to push back his date because he lives with his
fiancé, but it sounds like she is interested as well.
We also had a lesson with an investigator we met on Tuesday and she is
super interested and wants to learn more and accepted to be baptized
on July 9th. Although she may need to be pushed back, she works a crazy
work schedule and it will be hard to teach her every thing she needs
to know in time. But she is awesome and they both will still keep
progressing.
Saturday we drove out to Yates Center which is like 45 min away and
helped the Bishops Mom sand her porch and repaint it. So that was fun.
Service is awesome.
We had a lesson with Nathan who was baptized about two months ago and
he is still doing awesome. He is a usual 16 year old kid but he
definitely knows that the church is true and it's cool.
This has been an awesome couple of weeks. I am so grateful for the
chance to serve a mission and to see how the church blesses others and
I have learned so much about the church. We figured it out, with the
amount of studying and meetings we go to and just time talking about
the gospel, we get about 60 years of church experience in 2 years!
That's crazy but awesome.
Thank you for all the support that you guys have given me. It's always
awesome to hear from you :)
