Week 65

Area: Harrisonville, MO
Companion: Elder Cope

This week has been pretty good, mostly just busy work without a whole lot of showable success but I think it has been pretty productive. We found like 5 less active people who are ready to get active again so that will be sweet.

On Monday during P-Day sports there was a crash and I accidentally ended up hitting Elder Johnson in the temple with my knee super hard. I felt really bad and my knee still has a bruise on it so I hope Elder Johnson's face is alright.

We had a referral come in. This man had some friends in Utah getting married and he didn't know why he couldn't go in. So we met him at the church and got to know him and taught the restoration. He told us that he didn't know hardly anything from the Bible but almost every point we made he said that he felt it directly contradicted the Bible. So I specifically used scriptures from the New and Old Testaments. And literally after showing him the scripture and saying "this is what the apostles taught" he would still say that it was directly against what the Bible taught. So kind of at that point we knew that he just wasn't really ready to listen to the message. So we gave him a church tour. He said that he would come sometime, hopefully we will see him.

We spent pretty much all of conference with this sweet family, the Kelleys. It was awesome, conference is great :)
But before conference we went over to the Kelleys and helped Bro Kelley teach one of his friends. His friends name if F and is from Thailand, luckily Bro Kelley speaks Thai. So we mostly just sat there and enjoyed the wonderful spirit that was in the room. It was amazing to watch. Brother Kelley taught about the Restoration and the Plan of Salvation, we helped where we could.

While we were out with a priest from the ward we got a text from a random number telling us to remember to watch conference. So we asked who they were and it turned out to be sister missionaries in an Alaska mission. They thought our number was for one of their investigators. That was a strange coincidence.

Life here has been pretty fun. I like the new area and I am excited to get some work moving along. Thank you all for the support that you have given me, it's awesome to hear from you. Have a good week!
